WATCH: Karate Kid sequel series, Cobra Kai, gets first teaser trailer

First look footage of the Cobra Kai, a 10-episode 30-minute comedy series set 30 years after the events of Karate Kid 3 has arrived on YouTube Red.

Ralph Macchio, who starred as Daniel Larusso in the Karate Kid Trilogy, will reprise his role to once again face off against his rival Johnny Lawrence, played by William Zabka – also an original cast member.

Written by Josh Herald (Hot Tub Time Machine), Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar) who will also executive produce along with Susan Ekins, Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleb Pinkett. Hurwitz and Schlossberg will direct the series

Set long after Daniel his twice beaten Johnny in the All Valley Karate Tournament, both men’s lives have taken very different paths.  With Mr Miyagi’s teachings still with him, Daniel has found success in both his professional and personal life with his own family and a career as a car dealer. Johnn,y on the other hand, has fallen on hard times as he is seeking to reclaim the glory days of his youth by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai Dojo.

Also starring Xolo Maridena (Perenthood), Tanner Buchanan (designated Survivor), Courtney Henggelerm(Mom) and Mary Mouser(Freakish).  Guest Staring in the show will be primetime Emmy award winning actor Ed Asner.
