WATCH: New trailer for Altered Carbon Season 2 PLUS first look at the Altered Carbon anime series

February 20th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Netflix has dropped a new trailer for the second season of Altered Carbon.

The new series will see Anthony Mackie playing the body-jumping Takeshi Kovacs, the soldier who was trying to solve his own murder, played in season one by Will Yun Lee and then Joel Kinnaman.

The second season also stars Simone Missick as Trepp, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, Torbin Liebrecht as Colonel Ivan Carerra, James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki, Renee Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer and Chris Conner as Poe.

Altered Carbon season 2 premieres on Netflix on February 27, 2020.

More than 300 years in the future, society has been transformed by new technology, leading to human bodies being interchangeable and death no longer being permanent. Takeshi Kovacs is the only surviving soldier of a group of elite interstellar warriors who were defeated in an uprising against the new world order.

His mind was imprisoned for centuries until impossibly wealthy businessman Laurens Bancroft offers him the chance to live again. Kovacs will have to do something for Bancroft, though, if he wants to be resurrected.

Bancroft’s request of Kovacs is to solve a murder — Bancroft’s.

“Altered Carbon” is based on Richard K. Morgan’s cyberpunk noir novel of the same name.

Anthony Mackie is Takeshi Kovacs in Season 2 of Altered Carbon, streaming February 27.

But, on top of this, more exciting news for the Altered Carbon fans as we also have our first look at Netflix’s upcoming anime series and the best part? It’s set for March 19th!

The series “will explore new elements of the story mythology” and is firmly set in the same world as the live-action series.

The series comes from the animation studio, Anima and will be written by Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Tsukasa Kondo.
