Don’t confuse them with the Suicide Squad!

Yes we have the first trailer for the highly anticipated Creature Commandos, the official beginning of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU.

Gunn has previously said of Creature Commandos: “The new series picks up directly after our Peacemaker season one finale, which leaves Waller with her hands tied operationally, meaning that she’s no longer able to get away with putting human lives on the line to carry out her clandestine morally questionable missions. Instead, she recruits a ragtag band of misfits, not unlike the Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.”

We know too that while it seems Peacemaker season one, Suicide Squad and Blue Beetle will all play into the new DCU, Creature Commandos is officially the beginning of the new universe with executive producer Dean Lorey saying: “That’s going to be the first expression of James Gunn’s DC Universe. We’re considering that canon, and I think it expresses his perspective, tonally, on where he wants the universe to go.”

Meet Task Force M. From the mind of James Gunn and DC Studios, the new Max Original series Creature Commandos premieres this December.

Check out the first trailer:

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
