Based on the book series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander follows the character of Claire Randall (played by Caitriona Balfe) who finds herself transported back in time to Scotland in the 18th century. The series is produced by TV veterans Ira Steven Behr (Star Trek: The Next Generation, The 4400), Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) and Toni Graphia (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Alcatraz), and will begin its 16 episode first season in mid-2014.
