Oooooooh… this looks pretty dark and creepy and it looks like M Night Shyamalan could be getting back to when he was the mystery master on screen.
The new series will debut on apple TV on November 28th and it’s already got me considering adding Apple TV to my subscription list.
Set in Philadelphia, the show follows Sean and Dorothy Turner (Toby Kebbell and Lauren Ambrose respectively), a Philadelphia couple who come to learn that the nanny (Leanne Grayson) they’ve hired to look after their baby is not all that she seems. If only it were that weird, because the Turners’ child, Jericho, is no longer alive (he died at 13 weeks) and Dorothy has actually been caring for a fake baby doll this entire time. Rupert Grint also stars.
At NYCC, Shyamalan said of the concept: “That premise is so tragic and weird and scary. It’s also inappropriately funny… I’m really interested in the ‘you’re scared and laughing’ kind of thing.
“It has almost this play-like quality to it,” he added.
