Netflix are taking the concept of the show and have developed a ten-part series called Squid Game: The Challenge which will feature 456 players competing to win $4.56m ad it’s coming this November.
We’re assuming it’s not to the death. At this stage we don’t know for sure. Probably won’t be though. Nah.
The series is produced by Studio Lambert, the All3Media-backed producer behind Netflix series such as The Circle and The Garden. It was filmed in the UK.
Squid Game: The Challenge, the new competition series based on our biggest show ever, premieres November 22 only on Netflix.
Brandon Riegg, VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series at Netflix, said of the new series: “Squid Game took the world by storm with Director Hwang’s captivating story and iconic imagery. We’re grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment.
“Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real-world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest ever cash prize at the end.”
Still no mention of if it’s to the death or not. I’d really feel better if they just confirmed this. I’m kidding. It’s not. Probably. That would be illegal. Wouldn’t it? Hello?
