The trailer for Titans season 3, now heading to HBO Max rather than its old home, DC Universe, and it looks superb.

Honestly, this looks like the show we’ve hoped it would become for the last two seasons, with this year giving us Red Hood AKA Jason Todd, played by Curran Waltersand Barbara Gordon, Savannah Welch, but it’s Mad Men and Angel star Vincent Kartheiser as Jonathan Crane AKA Scarecrow, who seems to play a Hannibal Lector type role in the tale that has me pretty excited.

The season will see the regular stars returning in the form of Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Curran Walters as Jason Todd, Minka Kelly as Dove, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Joshua Orpin as Conner Kent, Damaris Lewis as Blackfire, and Iain Glen as Bruce Wayne. Joining the cast is The Batman star Jay Lycurgo who will be the new Robin, Tim Drake.

And, it has to be said, it looks like Red Hood’s birth will come from the death of Jason Todd at Joker’s hands… if so, man, that’s going to be a tough storyline.

Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find where they belong. In season three, circumstances draw our heroes to Gotham City, where they will reunite with old friends and face new threats.

When you come after family, they’ll show no mercy.

Titans Stream Season 3 of Titans on August 12, only on HBO Max.
