Yes, I am long past bored of The Simpsons, but this caught my attention.
The Treehouse of Horror has always been a Halloween tradition in FTN HQ, no matter how bad they have gotten, and this new intro, crossing The Simpsons with The Nightmare Before Christmas, is pretty great.
“Halloween episodes are not canon!”
The Simpsons’ 37th annual Halloween episode, Treehouse of Horror XXXVII, actually features a stop-motion short and it’s beautiful… beautiful enough to justify watching the whole episode? Well, I’ll leave that up to you to decide btu if you decide not, you can just watch the intro below.

The sequence by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the team behind Robot Chicken, is actually quite meta as it’s a Simpsons spoof of This Is Halloween, which was written by composer Danny Elfman, who also wrote The Simpsons theme tune.
Stoopid Buddy Stoodios’ Jim McKenzie said of working on the sequence: “Growing up, my bedroom had this painting of Jack Skellington, and then right next to it was a painting of Homer Simpson, so it’s very kismet, this whole project.”
He added: “In a time of AI, to be involved with something that’s truly handmade, it’s very special these days.”
You can watch the whole sequence below and don’t forget: Happy Halloween!

Marc
Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
