There’s been a lot of talk about a possible Xena: Warrior Princess reboot happening. It started about a month back, and was met with a lot of joy…and then Xena herself Lucy Lawless came forward and said that it was just talk and nothing official was happening.

But now, via the TCA’s, we know that not only is this really happening, but the reboot is apparently already in development!

“Yes, we’re in the early stages of developing a new take on Xena and we’re looking for a writer. We want to do it,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt shared with THR at the Television Critics Association press tour.

But what about Lucy Lawless? Will she be a part of the series she helped make famous? Well, NBC says they’re totally up for her being a part of the reboot, it’s just not locked down that she will just yet, or to what role she would play in it.

“We’d love to have Lucy be a part of it — if we felt that her presence didn’t overshadow the direction we take with it,” he explained. “I’m not sure how she could be part of it if she wasn’t playing Xena, and I don’t know if that’s a direction we’ll ever go.”

When more details are revealed we’ll fill you in!
