Oh, snap!

Word is breaking that Daredevil star Rosario Dawson has cast in season two of The Mandalorian as Ahsoka Tano!

Dawson has been attached to the role for some time now (here) and is a long-time fan favourite for the role.

Tano was first introduced in The Clone Wars movie waaaaaaay back in 2008 as the padawan to Anakin Skywalker. Over the course of the Clone Wars themselves Ashoka – voiced by the lovely Ashley Eckstein – became the focus of the series and a clear fan favourite character.

She then appeared in the Rebels series and her voice was heard in contact with Rey in The Rise of Skywalker although the man behind Clone Wars, Rebels and The Mandalorian, Dave Filoni, recently confirmed that Ashoka being in contact with Rey didn’t mean she was dead, after all, Luke wasn’t dead when he reached out to Leia in The Empire Strikes Back.

This will be the first time Ahsoka has appeared in live-action and, personally, I can’t wait!

The last time we saw Ahsoka was in Rebels’ final episode when we saw her and Mandalorian Sabine Wren head off into space to find Jedi Ezra Bridger who was lost in the clutches of Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Now, will The Mandalorian finish this story? Well, it’s likely not as we’re hearing that Rebels is getting a spin-off animated show later this year on Disney+.

Look, whatever Ahsoka’s role, we’re excited to find out and we’re delighted that Dawson will be the one making it happen.
