So, remember we said there was a Taken prequel series in the works (here)?

Well, just to prove it wasn’t a strange dream, it appears that the new Bryan Mills – AKA Liam Neeson in the movies – has been cast.

Vikings star Clive Standen is set to take on the role in NBC’s straight-to-series Taken.

The drama is described as a modern-day prequel to the Luc Besson-produced 2008 feature of the same name that starred Neeson as retired CIA operative Bryan Mills on a one-man mission to save his kidnapped daughter. The series will illustrate how a young Mills develops his skills.

The series will be written by Homeland’s Alexander Cary.

We like the Taken franchise well enough… but we reckon this needs to be something special to last the distance.

And will this show Mills getting his unique skill set? We reckon so…
