Illfonic developing a new Ghostbusters game

December 16th, 2021 by Marc Comments

Great news for fans of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters: The Video Game [which we’re still gutted about as it’s no-longer canon] as it seems more Ghostbusters console goodness is coming.

While we don’t know much about the game, we know that it’s in development thanks to Illfonic’s co-founder Raphael Saadiq who, in an interview with Questlove Supreme podcast casually mentioned Ghostbusters before moving on.

“We’re working on Ghostbusters right now.” he said.

Informative lol.

We have linked the podcast below and his comments drop at the 01:02:46 mark.

Illfonic is based in Colorado and is the company behind Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds, if that gives you any idea what a Ghostbusters game might feel like this time out.

And that’s all we have.

We don’t know thing one about this game – although, given the gap between Ghostbusters II and Afterlife, we’d imagine there’s a lot of adventures to be had in between those years. That said, there’s a wealth of new characters and as-yet-undiscovered characters to be explored too.

Whatever it is, we’re suckers for that no-ghost logo on things and will be picking it up when it arrives.

Thoughts?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
