Fan of The Last Of Us will love this…
At a special live performance of The Last of us in LA during the week, developer Naughtly Dog revealed an unproduced epilogue from the game.
It was performed by actors Troy Baker (Joel) and Ashley Johnson (Ellie) and creative director Neil Druckmann asked that no-one record the scene as it was never going to be produced beyond the performance.
The scene, according to Gamespot, takes place after the original ending of the game: “According to those in attendance, the Last of Us epilogue scene was written as a “goodbye” to Joel and Ellie, and takes place at the Tommy dam after the events of the main game (maybe four years). Joel meets Ellie there and she acts somewhat “distant” and unattached until Joel pulls out a guitar and sings a song for her (Baker reportedly performed this live in Joel’s voice). Joel then shares a joke with Ellie and the two enjoy a laugh together, alleviating the tension.”
