We all figured this was only a matter of time and now we have a rough idea when The Last Of Us sequel may arrive…
Series developer Bruce Straley has said that the game will be the next big project after Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End: “We’re 110 percent in Uncharted 4 territory now,” he said.
“We have brainstormed sequel ideas for The Last of Us, and we’ve brainstormed ideas for new games, but all of that is put on ice right now while we work on Uncharted 4.”
Meanwhile, creator Neil Druckmann has said it may not necessarily feature Joel and Ellie from the first game as Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson may not want to return: “I’d probably reconsider the story at that point. They are Joel and Ellie… no one should be that smart, talented, and attractive. It’s sick really.
“We have such limited resources, and it’s a question of where you put the resources. It’s something where we can have a feel of where the demand is, and where our time is best spent. It’s something that we’ll figure out as we move forward.”
So the game is coming but may not feature Joel and Ellie? Conflicted feelings, folks? Yeah, us too…
