WATCH: Trailer for Overkill’s The Walking Dead video game packs a punch

August 14th, 2014 by Marc Comments

While Telltale Games are doing wonders with their Walking Dead Games, there is a new player in town and it looks pretty amazing.

The official Walking Dead site just revealed the trailer below for the all new Game. They wrote:

“Man, we have been sitting on this one for a while! We’ve been wanting to make a really great AAA action/adventure Walking Dead game since Telltale knocked it out of the park. We talked to everyone. We heard tons of pitches, and spent a long time looking for the right crew. Starbreeze and their OVERKILL studio just got it. They understand the story aspect of it. They understand how important the fans are. And they’re willing to take the time to make the game great. It doesn’t hurt that Payday is pretty f’ing awesome as well.

“So after a bunch of flights between LA and Sweden, here we are! OVERKILL’S THE WALKING DEAD is a first-person co-op shooter with survival horror, stealth, and RPG elements. We don’t really believe in pulling punches when it comes to story-telling and neither does OVERKILL, which means this game will be for mature audiences. We’re providing some over-arching notes and acting as consultants for the guys at OVERKILL, but like we do with Telltale, we’re letting them run with it. We believe in finding great partners and then trusting them to do what they do best.

OVERKILL’S THE WALKING DEAD will hit in 2016. Platforms have yet to be announced.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
