Xbox One officially becomes backwards compatible with Xbox 360 this Thursday (12/11/15) but don’t rush to buy up old 360 games just yet!

As Xbox Preview Program members will be aware, Microsoft has enabled backwards compatibility (in limited capacity) on the Xbox One. For the past few months, Preview members have been testing out the Xbox 360 emulator app, on the Xbox One, allowing them to play Xbox 360 games on Microsoft’s new generation console.

Unfortunately not all titles will work when the App launches to the public in full this Thursday but they have released the full list of games that will work if you either own a physical or a digital copy.

If you own a disc, simply load the disc into your console (after you’ve received the update) allow the game to install and get then launch the game as you would any other Xbox One game.

If you own a digital copy of one of the listed games, once you have the update you will find all your purchased Xbox 360 games in the ‘Ready to Install’ section of ‘My Games & Apps’.

Microsoft have said that while not all titles are compatible, they are taking suggestions for games to make backwards compatible next via Xbox Feedback.
