Lovefilm, the UK rent-by-post service, will be ditching video game rentals by August 8th for all its customers, despite originally only going to be for new customers and ones who wanted to change what package they were on.
A spokesperson for Lovefilm said “Lovefilm confirms that games rental will no longer be available to new customers signing up to its service in the UK, with effect the week commencing 24th June,”
They went on to say: “In order to give the best possible service that we can, we are looking to focus on our strength, which is providing the best selection of film and TV content for our customers, and making it available whenever and wherever you want it.”
So for anybody in the UK looking to rent games they now only have two options in the form of Boomerang Rentals and Blockbusters…
