So, we all know that the #ReleaseTheCut movement has gathered serious momentum over the last few months and, while we wait for that release… if it ever comes is anyone’s guess… it looks like the gang will have another movement to get behind: #ReleaseTheAyerCut.
Nah, only kidding.
Maybe.
Suicide Squad director David Ayer has released a new image of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn in an alternate look hairstyle and outfit and, along with that, a new full sequence – which was trimmed in the movie – of Batman trying to apprehend Harley and Joker. The scene is much more complete than the clips we got in the movie and has Batman cutting into the roof of the car that Quinn and Joker are in before leaping into the water after the car goes off a pier.
It has Ben Affleck’s Batman coming close to killing Quinn, threatening to take something from Joker like he had taken something from him… a nod to the death of Robin which has gone unseen in the DCEU so far.
We have known for sometime that the original cut of Ayer’s Suicide Squad was different that the one that appeared on screens – like, for example, Diablo didn’t die originally (which I would have preferred, as he was the standout character in the movie), but it seems that with the scenes all – to our knowledge – having been filmed, we may see more and more cool stuff appearing online.
Check out the full scene below and let me know if you’d like to see an alternate cut of the movie.
