Radio Silence set for Choose Your Own Adventure movie after The Mummy 4

Readers of a certain age will recall the Choose Your Own Adventure books of the late 1970s/early 1980s, wherein you’d read an exciting adventure and now and then you’d come to a part of the story where you had to choose what your character in the novel would do – ‘to cross the bridge, turn to page 10, to turn back, keep reading’ sort of deal – well now it’s looking like our favourite directing duo, Radio Silence, are prepping for a big screen Choose Your Own Adventure.

Deadline reports that 20th Century Studios wants Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, collectively known as Radio Silence, to direct and produce the new movie after they complete filming on The Mummy 4.

The duo are best known for the Ready or Not movies, along with Abigail and Scream V and VI, so this is exactly the sort of adventure I’d be excited to see them undertake.

Radio Silence will produce and direct, with Andor’s Tom Bissell on scripting duties.

New Mummy movie set for Halloween next year as directors discuss plot and what is canon

There’s no plot details known as of now, nor is it clear how the ‘choose your own’ part of the stories will fit into the plot, although my guess is the movie will feature a narrator who is reading one of the books and we’ll see his adventure, a sort of Jumanji meets Never Ending Story sort of appraoch, though this is totally speculation on my part.

Whatever happens, I love the movies of this duo and will be there on opening night to see how it turns out.

So, Radio Silence directing Choose Your Own Adventure? Thoughts? I know you have them, and I wanna hear ’em all.
