According to Deadline John Wesley Shipp, the original Barry Allen/Flash from the 1990’s television series has been cast in an ongoing roll in the new CW reboot. While there are no details as to what role Shipp will be playing this is indeed big news for the show.

The cast includes Grant Gustin as Barry Allen, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Iris’s father, Detective West, Rick Gosnett as Central City Police Detective Eddie Thawne aka Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon aka Vibe, Danielle Panabaker as S.T.A.R. Labs bioengineer Caitlin Snow aka Killer Frost and Tom Cavanagh as S.T.A.R. Labs CEO Harrison Wells.
The Flash arrives from co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg who, along with Geoff Johns, will write the pilot episode with Arrow pilot director David Nutter at the helm.
