Bryan Singer set to direct a Red Sonja reboot?

September 17th, 2018 by Marc Comments

It looks like X-Men helmer Bryan Singer may be looking at a come back… with another comic book property.

Word on the nerdsphere is that Singer is setting his sights on the Conan The Barbarian comic spinoff, Red Sonja with X-Men: First Class’ Ashley Miller penning the script.

Last we heard was last November that the property may be getting a reboot (here) with the last big psh was years ago when Rose McGowan was attached to star in a reboot from Robert Rodriquez and, while it seems that movie was well into pre-production, it just never happened.

It’s likely the recent bout of female-centric tales (more Wonder Woman, less ghostbusters, we’d imagine) is at the core of this new push to get the character onscreen.

According to the report: “Sources say Millennium will pay Singer top dollar for the assignment… Singer is set to receive full directing credit, and the movie is now generating strong buzz inside and outside the studio.”

So, what say you all? Is it time to welcome Singer back? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
