David Fincher wants to helm World War Z sequel

February 9th, 2017 by Marc Comments

David Fincher is said to be in talks over directing a sequel to World War Z.

According to THR, the man behind Se7en is chatting with Paramount over helming the Brad Pitt-starring movie but that the studio is dragging its heels.

A source for the site said that Fincher is “very creatively interested in directing the movie”, which would reteam him with Brad Pitt. Both worked together on the aforementioned Se7en and 2008 drama The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Fincher is reportedly looking to make the follow-up for less than the original’s $190 million budget even though it ended up grossing $540 million worldwide.
