Back in June, former Deadline founder Nikkie Finke dropped a huge WB/DC scoop that was supposed to be revealed at SDCC. It was 6 movies through 2018.
SDCC came and went and they didn’t announce anything.
Well today on the heels of Batman v Superman changing its release date, they have announced a massive schedule of DC Comics properties. Not a bad way to cover up that fact that they flinched huh?
The unknown DC Comics films are set for release on:
Untitled DC Film – 08/05/16
Untitled DC Film – 06/23/17
Untitled DC Film – 11/17/17
Untitled DC Film – 03/23/18
Untitled DC Film – 07/27/18
Untitled WB Event Film – 11/16/18
Untitled DC Film – 04/05/19
Untitled DC Film – 06/14/19
Untitled DC Film – 04/03/20
Untitled DC Film – 06/19/20
Untitled WB Event Film – 11/20/20
The movies that are expected are Justice League, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam and Sandman.
The scheduled “event” films may not necessarily DC Comics related. Warner Bros. has traditionally viewed November as a launch pad for the Harry Potter movies, so it’s possible that the two “event films” above are sequels to J.K. Rowling’s spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which releases on Nov. 18, 2016.
