· Disney launches its Red Nose Day fundraising campaign at Disney Store, Belfast

· Exclusive Red Nose Day products on sale from 14th February

February, 2013: Disney is partnering with Red Nose Day to help fundraise for Comic Relief with exclusive new Red Nose Day themed products and a national fundraising campaign to help families turn funny into money.

Disney Store, Donegall Place, Belfast, will launch the campaign on Thursday 14th February and invites the residents of Belfast to join the Disney Store Cast Members at 11am to help raise money for people living unimaginably tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.

It’s also a great opportunity for Belfast residents to get their hands on the exclusive Red Nose Day Mickey Mouse soft toy – 25% of the sale price will go directly to Comic Relief.

Comic Relief works tirelessly to support some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people around the world, striving towards a just world free from poverty and as well as providing funds to projects across the globe, Comic Relief will have helped someone within 30 miles of Belfast.

Head down to the launch of Disney’s Red Nose Day partnership at Disney Store, Belfast, at 11am on Thursday 14th February and help turn funny into money for Comic Relief.

Belfast, February 2013: Today, Disney UK launched its Comedy Magic fundraising campaign for Red Nose Day at Disney Store, Belfast, where Tiffany Brien joined local residents to showcase their comedy prowess and make Disney laugh, in order to raise money for  people living unimaginably tough lives in the UK and in Africa.

The Comedy Magic campaign aims to inspire the people of Britain to flex their funny bones to make Disney laugh by sharing funny jokes, stories, pictures or even videos. Every time someone succeeds at raising a laugh from the folks at Disney UK, Disney will donate £1 to Comic Relief up to £100,000.

As well as heading online to Disney.co.uk/rednoseday and Disney’s Facebook pages to share their jokes, families across Britain can pop into their local Disney Store from now until 24th February where Cast Members up and down the country are primed and ready to witness the nation’s comedy magic first hand. The guests at Disney Store did not disappoint as London shoppers kicked off the action with an array of amusing anecdotes and tickling tales.

It was also a great opportunity for Belfast residents to get their hands on the exclusive Red Nose Day Mickey Mouse soft toy launching today – 25% of the sale price going directly to Comic Relief.

To give families funny food for thought, Disney have enlisted the expertise of the family man behind popular UK stunt shows Trigger Happy TV and Fool Britannia, Dom Joly, to create Disney’s Guide to Funny. The handbook to hilarity is available to download for free at Disney.co.uk/rednoseday and features sections headed up by Dom Joly, along with the co-creator of Disney’s EMMY-award winning animation Phineas and Ferb, Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, and Bridgit Mendler, star of Disney Channel’s twice BAFTA-winning comedy series Good Luck Charlie.

Dom Joly, said: “Comedy is an art but, like many things, there are ways and means to get a giggle going in even the grumpiest of people.So, Britain! It’s time to put your funny where your mouth is and help raise a laugh for Red Nose Day and £100,000 for Comic Relief.

“Think you have real comedy value? I challenge you to prove it and make your friends and family laugh too to raise even more money. Share your funny fun-raising stories to impress the Comedy Magic panel and be named Disney’s Funniest UK Family.”

Families can share their funny fundraising stories at Disney.co.uk/rednoseday to be in with the chance of having £20,000 donated in their name to Comic Relief on behalf of Disney, plus win a family holiday to Disneyland Paris.

Celebrities around the world have already been sharing their favourite jokes to make Disney laugh, securing a £1 donation by Disney to Comic Relief, including One Direction, Kelly Osbourne, Melanie C, Richard Branson and Disney Channel stars Bridgit Mendler, Laura Marano, Ross Lynch, Debby Ryan, Bella Thorne and Zendaya.

The money raised this Red Nose Day will help people living unimaginably tough lives in the UK and in Africa.
