September 12th, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr 1 Comment

Following the release of the first trailer and official stills from Jose Padilha’s upcoming RoboCop remake last week, Sony Pictures have now unveiled the first official poster for film.

In the film, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

The film features an ensemble cast that includes Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

RoboCop hits theaters on February 7, 2014.

Once I saw the design of the new Robocop I immediately became disinterested but as time has gone on and with release of the trailer I’ve become quite excited about it. I like the direction it seems to be going in, like the nods to the past and looking forward to see a new take on the story. If its as good as what I think its going to be, then i hope they’re planning a trilogy ( a decent trilogy this time not an outstanding first outing followed by two lacklustre efforts). Yes. I’m positive about this.
