An Irish actress has let slip that she will be playing the mother of Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Valene Kane will portray Lyra Erso, who will be first revealed in the forthcoming book Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel, alongside her onscreen husband Gale Erso, played by Mads Mikkelsen.
In an article published by Belfast Live, she said: “I grew up watching Stars Wars and I didn’t believe it was happening until I was filming in Iceland. It has a really edgy independent vibe.”
Kane is probably best known for her role as Rose in television drama The Fall.
Elsewhere, a number of new images and character descriptions have appeared online from the film.
