Jack O’Connell is howling for war in new 300: Rise of an Empire Poster

December 17th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Following yesterday’s poster of  Lena Headey’s Queen Gorgo, Warner Bros. has released another character poster for their upcoming film 300: Rise of an Empirefeaturing star Jack O’Connell’s Calisto with the phrase “War is in my blood.”

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes” and told in the visual style of the blockbuster 300, this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, Rodrigo Santoro, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell, and Andrew Tiernan.

The film is directed by Noam Murro, from a screenplay by Zack Snyder & Kurt Johnstad.

300: Rise of an Empire opens in theaters on March 7, 2014.
