Marvel officially confirms Drew Goddard for Daredevil Netflix Series

December 7th, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

Marvel has officially confirmed a report from last month that writer/director Drew Goddard (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lost, Cloverfield, The Cabin in the Woods, World War Z) has joined Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix series.

Goddard will write and direct the first episode of Daredevil, setting the tone and look for the show, while also serving as series Showrunner and Executive Producer for the 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015.

Daredevil is one of several shows that will build to a crossover miniseries, The Defenders. The other planned series include Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, with the epic unfolding over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and the culminating mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
