Melissa Rosenberg to write and produce Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones series

November 13th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Following the news that Drew Goddard would be penning Marvel Studios’ Daredevil Netflix series, Deadline is reporting that Twilight scribe Melissa Rosenberg will be handling writing and executive producer duties on Jessica Jones. She was actually attached to a Jessica Jones project back in 2010. Rosenberg has also written episodes of  Ally McBeal, Dexter, and The O.C among other shows.

Jessica Jones joins Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as one of four series that will build to a crossover miniseries, “The Defenders.” Each is designed to take Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell’s Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and the culminating mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.

Jessica Jones is expected to be the second show to premiere, following Daredevil.
