Marvel is still on the hunt for their Scarlet Witch for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Reports say that Saoirse Ronan, the prototype for the character who said she’d love the role, has turned it down. Bleeding Cool is reporting that Elizabeth Olsen has become the frontrunner. They add she will need a European accent if she takes the role.
Casting is still in the works for the film, with Kick-Ass 2‘s Aaron Taylor-Johnson still thought to be playing Scarlet Witch’s twin brother, Quicksilver. That remains unconfirmed, though Taylor-Johnson has spoken about the character more than a few times, leading many to believe it’s pretty much a done deal.
Olsen has proven herself to be an incredibly talented actress and has been praised by critics for hers roles in Martha Marcy May Marlene, and Liberal Arts.Elizabeth Olsen can be seen next in Spike Lee’s Oldboy remake this November and then Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla reboot, oddly enough also starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson in May of 2014.
