According to The Hollywood Reporter Jason Momoa is in negotiations to join the cast of Batman vs. Superman. No word yet on who he would be playing, but a source speculated to them that Momoa could be playing Martian Manhunter. There’s also been rumors that the movie would feature two Superman villains, so he fits the bill for Doomsday.
Momoa has garnered a lot of attention for his performance as Khal Drogo in the first season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, he had the starring role in 2011’s Conan the Barbarian film, and co-starred in four seasons of Stargate Atlantis. He was one of the reported frontrunners for the role of Drax in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, but reportedly wanted too much money. The part eventually went to Dave Bautista
Batman vs. Superman (or whatever) is being scripted by David S. Goyer from a story he co-created with Zack Snyder. Snyder is directing. Man of Steel‘s Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman in the film, Ben Affleck is Bruce Wayne/Batman and Gal Gadot is Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also reprise their roles in the sequel.
It is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015.
