Well this is kind of a downer, the first bit of Star Wars casting news and it’s that someone didn’t get a role. Saoirse Ronan confirmed previously that she did audition for a part in Star Wars: Episode VII. She even mentioned that she pretended to use a lightsaber. Well it seems according to Ronan, she didn’t get the part. Here’s what she told The Playlist:
“I don’t have ‘Star Wars.’ I don’t have the role,” Ronan said, sounding kind of defeated. “I just shouldn’t have said anything. I just auditioned for it, like everyone else did.” When they asked about the audition process, she said, “To pretend that you have a lightsaber in a scene is always very exciting. It would be great. But it’s something that everyone’s gone up for.”
It seems one movie she is not up for is Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four reboot:
“I only heard that rumor. I’m not signed up for ‘Fantastic Four.”
