About 2 weeks ago it was rumored that actress Saoirse Ronan had auditioned for a role in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars: Episode VII. Well, she confirmed the news herself in a recent interview with Sky News and said:
“so has everyone”
Of course she wouldn’t go into any detail about the film, saying that “bosses” would “chop her head off with a lightsaber.”
The term “bosses” in her reply is interesting though. That would seem to imply that J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy are her bosses? Does that mean she actually has the role? Or did she just misspeak?
What is known is she turned down the Scarlet Witch role in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, and why would she do that unless she had something bigger lined up?
Maybe? It does sound like a lot of actors auditioned though so who knows.
The rumor suggested she was up for one of the female leads, either Han Solo’s daughter or the female villain.
Star Wars: Episode: VII, scheduled for a 2015 release will be directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Michael Arndt.
