MMA fighter turned actress Gina Carano (Haywire) is set to star in a big screen adaptation of Rob Liefeld‘s comic book Avengelyne. Carano and Liefeld, will be appear at Comic-Con on Saturday to meet fans and sign posters for the film that will feature Carano as Avengelyne. We’ll be sure to post that as soon as we get it.
The story in the comics centered on a fallen angel who is cast down to Earth. Her mission is to find and protect “the one,” who is a person that holds the key to saving mankind from demons and other forms of monsters.
According to THR, “Carano and Liefeld are re-conceiving and rebuilding the title into a starring vehicle for Carano and the movie project is intended to be in the vein of Underworld.”
Carano was last seen kicking ass in Universal’s hit Fast & Furious 6, alongside Vin Diesel and Dwayne The Rock Johnson. She is also rumored to be in Expendables 3. The search for a writer for the project will begin next week.
