TheWrap is reporting that Sony are planning on bringing some of Spider-Man’s long time companions and villains to the big screen.
Speaking to investors at a recent presentation, Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairman Amy Pascal said: “We are going to access Marvel’s full world of Spider-Man characters, so be on the lookout for new heroes and villains.”
Deadline later added that CEO Michael Lynton was reported as saying: “We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man. There are a number of scripts in the works.”
Sony are currently working on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for a May 2, 2014, release followed by a third film set for release on June 10, 2016, and a fourth film to follow on May 4, 2018.
