We almost had no more Ted and ended up with two series…
If, like us here at FTN HQ, you loved Seth MacFarlane’s Ted spinoff series on Peacock, you’ll be delighted to know that season 2 is already filming, below, and on top of that, we are getting an animated series too.
A new report from Puck News says that Peacock almost cancelled the series because of its $8m per episode budget. MacFarlane had previously said of the show: “Universal actually proposed the idea to me of doing a Ted series. I hadn’t really thought about going back to that character until they mentioned it, and I said, ‘Really? Isn’t that outrageously expensive?’ They stayed true to their word and did not compromise the quality.”
They may not have compromised but they did almost pull the plug.
However, and the details aren’t known on this yet, they didn’t and season 2 is happening as I type and not only did they not cancel it, they’re greenlit a companion animated series.
No further details are known right now but it seems there’s plenty more Ted to come and, if it’s all as good as the first season, then that’s ok with me.
Thoughts, let me know them, guys.
