WATCH: The trailer for the Hellraiser reboot has such sights to show you

The trailer for the Hellraiser reboot from Hulu is here and, guys, it’s pretty good-looking.

Bringing back the iconic Cenobite Pinhead, this time played by Generation Q actress Jamie Clayton, replacing Doug Bradley (see why here) and the terrifying Puzzle Box, this feels like it may be set in the same reality as the movies that came before.

Creator Clive Barker said fo the new movie: “This is a Hellraiser on a scale that I simply didn’t expect. [Director David Bruckner] and his team are steeped in the story’s mythology, but what excites me is their desire to honour the original even as they revolutionize it for a new generation.”

Having Barker so enthusiastically onboard is an exciting piece of the puzzle but, while this looks good and I cannot wait to make it a Halloween watch his year, it’ll have a hard time topping the 1987 original movie – directed by Barker himself – which is easily a top-ten horror movie for us here at FTN. Mind you, it has a million increasingly awful sequels, so we’re hoping this new movie hits closer to the marker of the first movie than any of its follow-ups.

Joining Clayton will be Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why, Ratched), Goran Visnjic (The Boys, ER), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks, Love, Simon), Adam Faison (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, Into the Dark), Aoife Hinds (Normal People, Anne Boleyn) and Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049, Succession).

A reimagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic from director David Bruckner, will premiere on October 7th.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
