Right, so we haven’t seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet… and the rumours have already started for Episode VIII.

Ready? Ok, let’s do it…

SPOILERS BELOW

PROBABLY

The Star Wars sequel – not to be confused with the standalone movies – is due to arrive on  May 26, 2017 but the rumour mill just kicked off.

Firstly – and we have reported this a while ago already (here) – it looks like Lando Calrissian will be back! Oh, yes, the universe’s second coolest scoundrel will return in Episode VIII. This makes sense becasue it means that, like the first time we met him, he won’t appear until the second chapter in the trilogy. Which is all sorts of cool.

The next (new) rumour, is that the villain of the second movie in the new trilogy will be… a female.

Yes, it seems that “licensees are being told to expect a female Sith character in Episode VIII. Who this character is is completely unknown and likely a new character to be revealed in the second film in the trilogy. There were rumors at one point that Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma would be Force sensitive, though it seems that plot point has been dropped. If I were betting man, I would wager that this is a new character.”

We can easily see these both being true… we heard from several sources that Lando will be back and with Star Wars having a history of strong females, we reckon it’s not a stretch to see this happening.

What do you all think?
