Alfonso Cuaron keen to return to Potter universe?

November 27th, 2013 by Marc Comments

While many of here at FTN have soft spots for the Harry Potter movies, we all have our favourites but for most it’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, directed by Gravity’s Alfonso Cuaron.

Well, since the news that a new Harry Potter universe movie was coming, based on author JK Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, we’ve all been wondering who would direct. Well, it looks like Cuaron is keen to return to the Potter-verse. Originally he was offered Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to direct but didn’t want to go right into another Potter movie. He has had a change of heart, it seems.

Speaking to Vulture, he said: “‘Azkaban’ was fun to make, and when I did it, I was invited to do the next one, but I didn’t want to overstay the welcome, because it was such an experience. But now? Why not? I do have stuff that I want to do [next], but a JK thing… They haven’t called me yet! They haven’t decided to invite me! Looking forward! At least to see it, because nobody’s invited me.”

So, what say you? Do you want him back? Have you a better idea? We want to hear them… get in contact in the usual ways.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
