Woah, Doctor Manhattan has joined Alien: Covenant!
Actor Billy Crudup, who starred in some of FTN’s favourite movies including Watchmen and Almost Famous, has joined the ever increasing cast which now includes a returning Michael Fassbender with Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo and Callie Hernandez.
Nothing is known about Crudup or anyone else’s roles – except Fassbender who will once again play David from Prometheus – so we can’t tell you more but we do know we always get quietly excited for new Aliens.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Alien: Covenant will open on October 6, 2017.
