Amy Pascal reveals when live-action Miles Morales movie is coming

February 13th, 2024 by Marc Comments

Wait, are we getting two more Spider-verse movies?!?

No, we’re not, sorry.

All the confusion started last night when Sony studio boss Amy Pascal was asked how her plans for a live-action Miles Morales movie were coming along and when we can expect to see it, to which she said: “Someday [but] not until we make two more movies… we’re very happy doing [the animated Spider-Verse movies].”

This caused some confusion as we all believed that the Spider-verse series was a trilogy, with the third movie, Beyond the Spider-verse due (hopefully) this year. However, the co-writer of the movie, Christopher Miller has come forward and confirmed that Pascal was talking about the fourth Tom Holland Spider-man movie for the MCU and not a – booooooooo! – fourth Spider-verse movie.

However, we do know a Miles movie will happen (although after Madame Web, I hope it falls into Marvel’s lap) and Donal Glover even suspects he’ll be the villainous Prowler in it, having already played the character in the MCU as well as in animated and live-action form in the Spider-verse movies.

Meanwhile, Shameik Moore, who plays Miles in the animated movies, says the third movie is the best yet: “What I can tell you about Beyond the Spider-Verse is that it’s gonna be better than Into and Across the Spider-Verse, and that I will be in it. That’s all I can tell you… “

When the third movie comes out, the Spider-verse will live on on the small screen with a Spider-man Noir series over at Amazon (and likely lore spin-offs coming down the line) – Noir was voiced by Nicholas Cage in Into the Spider-verse  – and will be showrun by Punisher’s Steve Lightfoot with Cloverfield Paradox writer Oren Uziel penning it.

So, there may only be one more movie planned but the Spider-verse will likely live on for some time to come.
