Andy Muschietti shares first look at Supergirl suit from The Flash movie

June 18th, 2021 by Marc Comments

The Flash director Andy Muschietti has so far shared a look at Micheal Keaton’s new Batman suit and The Flash’s suit and new logo from the movie (here), and today he’s given us another glimpse of a new hero’s suit and logo.

The writer/director has shared our first look at actress Sasha Calle’s Supergirl suit and there’s few things we need to discuss.

Firstly, the suit is different from the one we saw when Muschietti announced the young actress as his Supergirl (here) although, that was likely because it was simply the Henry Cavill suit, used for the photo.

Secondly, speaking of Cavill’s suit, the logo on the Supergirl suit is absolutely the same universe suit as that one, with the same Kryptonian writing all over it, although, of you look at the iconic S above and Cavill’s, left, you’ll see that the S’s tails are narrower than the Superman suit.

On top of this, the red goes over the shoulders of the suit, likely meeting the cape, which means this could be one of two known takes on the character… although, we reckon it’s going to be a combination of both.

Firstly, there’s the comic Crisis on Infinite Earths version of Supergirl’s suit which carries the same look with the red bleeding into the cape:

You will notice that this version of Kara Jor-El was, like Calle, dark-haired but when she was Supergirl, she had the blonde hair… I’d bet this will be how the character will be done in the movie.

Next up, and unlikely to be the one in the movie, is Lara Lane-Kent, the daughter of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, who becomes Supergirl:

If we had to bet, we’d say this version will be similar to the Crisis one and Calle will sport the blonde hair in the super suit.

It’s also great to see that the Cavill Superman stylings, and the Snyder version of the DCEU universe, are alive and well and will hopefully mean that, while DC/WB is working on an African America Superman, we could see Cavill return to the role, after all, in the Multiverse there’s plenty of room for another Superman.

Also, welcome aboard, Supergirl, it’ll be great to see you back on the big screen.

Let me know all your thoughts, gang.
