A few days ago, in a new Variety article – which we’ll cover in whole soon – Zack Snyder dropped a major tease for the upcoming Zack Snyder’s Justice League
In the interview, he said that he filmed a new ending for the movie with a cameo “that will blow hard-core fans’ minds” and that has got the fans giddy at who it might be… with, of course, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter being the fans’ best guess at this stage.
Now, we do, of course, already know that actor Henry Lennix has filmed scenes for this movie as the Manhunter AKA J’onn J’onzz; Lennix played General Swanwick in Man of Steel and Batman V Superman (here) but we still suspect that this could be the appearance Snyder is referring to.
Now, whether it is or not, it looks like we have our first look at how he will look in the movie.
New variant covers have been revealed for the upcoming Justice League #59, which are all themed around Snyder’s upcoming HBO Max release.
The covers feature the Justice League (see them below) and, most excitingly, Lennix’s Martian Manhunter as drawn by living comic book legend Jim Lee!
It’s a classic looking take on the character as he appears in the comics and I really, really hope this is how he appears in the movie because, well, it’s great!
I want to hear what you think, folks!
In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions.
The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes.
Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad, and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.
The Snyder Cut of Zack Snyder’s Justice League is coming to HBO Max internationally on March 18, 2021.
