Although we have known for some time that the Martian Manhunter was in Zack Snyder’s DC movies all along, played by actor Harry Lennix (here) whose character, General Swanwick, was the Justice League hero hiding in plain site.
And we also have been assuming that we would see the character brought to life in the upcoming Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
But now Lennix himself has stepped up and addressed the issue:
The star has now confirmed that he has filmed scenes for the role in the new version of Justice League.
Saying that, when he was cast in Man of Steel, he had no idea if he’d be back for further movies, let alone that he was a founding member of the Justice League: “they were still being developed and they keep all of that under lock and key.”
He said that, due to his filming on The Blacklist, he hadn’t previously had time to film scenes as J’onn J’onzz (remember the Unite the Seven tagline for Justice League? J’onzz was the seventh hero) but now, with Snyder working on the release of his definitive vision for his movie, he has confirmed that he’s finally filmed footage for the role.
This is cracking news.
Swanwick was already a cracking character but seeing him step up as J’onzz will be great.
What say you all? Are you looking forward to seeing the seventh member of the Justice League at last? I know I am.
