Guillermo Del Toro does atmospheric, Victorian horror? With Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain and his Pacific Rim star Charlie Hunnam? Yes please…

The latet issues of Empire Magazine and Total Film have images from Del Toro’s latest spook fest and we’re suitably excited.

It’s not long now until Guillermo del Toro delves back into his world of earth shattering Jaegers and Kaijus battling it out mano-a-mano in the follow-up to the international Box Office smash hit Pacific Rim. However, Toro is currently revisiting familiar territory with his latest Gothic romance Crimson Tide. The film, starring Tom Hiddleston (Thor: The Dark World), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Jessica Chastain (Interstellar), and Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), is due out later this year, and we have promotional shots of three of its stars.

“In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers. The haunting gothic horror story is being directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim). It is was written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins and stars Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam.

It will be co-produced by Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures and is due for release just in time for Halloween this year on October 16, 2015

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
