Man, this is moving fast!
Back in March I reported that a Beetlejuice sequel was moving forward (here) and since then, we have learned that Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega is onboard, Micheal Keaton is back as the titular ghost with the most and then Danny Elfman confirmed that he’s back on scoring duties and, honestly, I’m very excited for this.
Now, on top of all that, we now have new details that make it even more exciting.
The sequel is set for September 6th, 2024 – maybe hold it back for Halloween, guys! – and that’s 36 years after the original movie.
It also seems that my guess at Ortega being the daughter of Wynona Ryders’s Lydia Deetz from the first movie has been confirmed and yes, Ryder is back too!
Justin Theroux is also on board in a so far mysterious role.
I’ve been a Beetlejuice fan ever since I saw it as a kid when it hit home video and it’s now a big favourite in my house with my daughter counting it among her favourite movies, so this is going to be a very, very highly anticipated release in this – and I’m sure millions of others – house.
See you all next Halloween, guys!
