Everyone picked up on the nod to Mister Sinister at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse (here) and assumed that he was set to be the villain in the next X-Men outing, but it seems we’ll have a shorter wait to see him causing problems in the X-Verse.

Director Bryan singer has confirmed on the X-Men: Apocalypse commentary the sinister will be the villain in Wolverine 3.

The set up for the character occurs n apocalypse in the post credits scene where we see men in suits taking viles of wolverine’s DNA away in a suitcase with  Essex Corp. on it. In the comics Essex Corp is owned by  Nathaniel Essex, a.k.a. Mister Sinister.

In the comics Sinister is virtually immortal and over time has stolen the powers of other mutants so he has a host of abilities at his command.

There’s speculation that Richard E Grant – who we know plays a mad scientist in the movie – may well be Essex and, as a massive fan of Grant’s, I think this would be spectacular.

Wolverine 3 – believed by many to be Old Man Logan – is set for release on March 3rd, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
