Cable has been cast in Deadpool 2 and it’s certainly an unexpected choice

Ok, we did not see this coming.

We’ve reported on several actors who were in the line to play Cable in Deadpool 2… Pearce Brosnan, Brad Pitt, David Harbour and even Michael Shannon but lo and behold it’s gone to someone we never thought was even in the running… Josh Brolin!

Now it’s not that Brolin won’t be great in the role (we can totally see it working) but it’s because he’s currently another major Marvel character as he’s playing Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

And yes, we know it’s two different universes and yes we know that Ryan Reynolds has played Deadpool AND Green Lantern but we simply didn’t even consider Brolin because of his other major Marvel links. Albeit with the MCU and not FOX.

So what’s the skinny? Well, that’s all we know so far… Brolin is Cable.

Deadpool and Cable creator Rob Liefeld said of the casting: “Josh Brolin brings both the gravitas as well as the physicality required to bring Cable to life on the big screen! He’s an amazing actor and I’m as excited as anyone to see him paired with Ryan Reynolds, Zazie Beets in Deadpool 2!! Cable, Domino and Deadpool people!! It’s happening!!!”

In the comics Cable, was co-created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson, was from the future and was the adult son of Scott Summers, also known as the X-Man Cyclops.

So there you have it… the search is over. What say you all?

Oh… and Ryan Reynolds, as always, has the last word:
