The trailer for Captain America: Civil War that landed a wee while back (here) certainly gave us a tasty insight into what we can expect from the next instalment in Cap’s big screen adventure. Now, rather nicely, the film’s plot synopsis has been officially released, and it has us even more excited.

Continuing on from the heated moments between Tony and Steve in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the two are at each other’s throats, with the story looking a little like this:

“Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps — one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.”

Still no mention to just what we can expect from Martin Freeman’s character (my money is still on him being the new face of Red Skull) and those who have thoroughly studied the trailer closely won’t have much more given away by reading this, but it just adds to the excitement factor we have for Civil War.

It’s time to pick a side.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
