Courteney Cox confirms she’s back for Scream VII

Just a little under a month ago we reported that Courteney Cox has cast some doubt on her return for Scream VII but it seems that we can rest easy.

In September, the star said: “I’m not officially signed on. I’m not, but there will be a Scream 7,” which raised a few eyebrows since costar Neve Campbell had stated that they were both back, however, it seemed that perhaps Cox was saying that since there were rerites and stalled filming dates, she hadn’t committed just yet… and it seems that exactly what happened.

At the Inc. 5000 Conference Cox confirmed that she was coming back especially since she’s, so far, the only actor/actress to appear in all the movies: “I’m the longest-running Scream queen, so I guess I can’t stop now,” she said.

This is fun news as having her and Campbell back as Gale and Sidney and both going after a new Ghostface is something the fans have wanted for a while.

In other news, we keep hearing murmurs that Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire star McKenna Grace is close to joining the cast with word being she’s set to play Sidney’s daughter, Tatum, named after Tatum Riley, played by rose MacGowen, who was Sidney’s best friend and was murdered by Ghostface in the first Scream movie. It’s a great bit of casting if true, so watch this space.

Ghostface will be back doing what he does best on Friday, February 27th, 2026.

Let us know your thoughts, folks…
